Hugh Howat

Hugh is the owner / operator of Howat Auto Services and has been working as a mechanic for nearly 40 years. Hugh started his Automotive Engineer apprenticeship in November 1977, and worked for Graeme Paul Motors at Clarksville Junction until 1993. Hugh then travelled to Clydevale to work for W & J Dunlop in their workshop.

In late 1993, Hugh and Clare decided to look around and purchase a business of their own, and in March 1994, they purchased an existing automotive repair business in Milton.

Hugh had built a relationship wtih the Caltex reps whilst working at Clydevale, and it is that relationship that led to the move to the existing site and taking over the lease of Caltex Milton in May 1997.
